Gigdev focuses upon the empowerment and development of women in Tamale. Most women are between 18 and 30  years old. The Center also has a nursery for those ladies that have a child. This way the women can take care of their children and also develop their knowledge and skills.

The program of Gigdev includes a period of 2 years. In this period the participants learn to become independant by learning a skill. The training focuses on professions such as hairdresser, tailor and saleswoman of agricultural products.

The activities of this internship primarely include providing help, training, counselling, and active participation to their training program as a staffmember of Gigdev. You will be working together with the Ghanian staff of Gigdev.
